5 Ways You Can Feel Good About Yourself Today



Self confidence is a huge issue for many of us. Years of being overweight, being told you're not good enough, and trying constantly to improve yourself can really wear you down.

Here are 5 simple things you can do to feel good about yourself today: 


1- Write down everything you love about yourself

I have this awful habit of making lists of things I want to change about myself (lose weight, fix this, fix that etc). If you reverse that, you'll end up with a list of everything that makes you awesome. 

2- Pamper yourself

There's nothing I love more than a little at home spa day- or even better, a spa day at the actual spa. We all deserve a little pampering once in a while. Some of my favourite ways to pamper myself are: 

• Get a massage
• Do a face mask 
• Get your hair done
• Do your nails, or get them done at a salon
• Take a long bubble bath with essential oils, body scrubs, hair treatments, etc

3- Help someone in need 

Even if it's just a friend who needs some help writing a letter, I love helping people in need. When someone could use my help and specifically goes to me, I'm like YES! It makes you feel so needed, and that's a great feeling. Other ways you can help someone would be volunteering your time, donating to people in need, or being there for someone who needs to talk. Doing something selfless for someone else will make you feel confident and happy, I promise. 

4- Get rid of the toxic people in your life

Do it now! Ugh we don't need people who are going to bring us down. I would almost be willing to bet that just reading the previous sentence reminded you of someone toxic in your own life. I promise, it will be a weight lifted and you will be so much happier in the long run. Is there someone who constantly belittles you, a selfish friend who only cares about themself, a friend who constantly causes drama for attention at your expense,  someone who enjoys seeing you suffer and doesn't celebrate your successes with you? Toss em'. You don't need that kind of negativity. 

5- Compliment a friend

Grab your phone, message a friend right now, and tell them something you love about them. I know personally I think great things about my friends all the time but rarely tell them? Why don't we? Let's just spread love and positivity. Complimenting someone else is going to make them feel great, and it will make you feel great as well.
